Sega Mega Drive
Also know as the Sega Genesis, the Sega Mega Drive is a 16-bit home gaming console, developed by Sega and released in the late 80's/early 90's. Although it did not sell well in Japan, it was very popular in North America, Europe, and many other regions, mostly as a result of its library of arcade game ports, the popularity of Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog series, several popular sports franchises, and aggressive marketing that positioned it as the cool console for teens vs the SNES and other 4th generation consoles. The birthplace of Sonic, the Mega Drive will always hold a place in the video game hall of fame and the hearts of its fans.
